Wizards vs. Bucks preview: Washington looks to improve to 2-0 in Milwaukee

New, comments

After a late-game win in Orlando on Wednesday, the Wizards look to start the season with a winning streak against a young Bucks team.

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

After an awesome John Wall play and a controversial goaltending call, the Washington Wizards have started the 2015-16 NBA season in the win column. Will that continue on Friday night against the Milwaukee Bucks? That remains to be seen.

The Bucks were a playoff team last year and added some pieces in free agency, including Greg Monroe who turned down a few other offers to make his home in Wisconsin. However, the Bucks are off to a bumpy start after a 25-point home loss to the New York Knicks on Wednesday.

Storylines we're watching

Who is guarding Khris Middleton and can they stop him?

In the Wizards and Bucks final meeting of last season the Bucks won 91-85 powered by the recently paid Middleton's 30 points and nine rebounds. In the Wizards' pre-season 105-101 victory over the Bucks, Middleton scored 21 points in 22 minutes.

Marcin Gortat vs Greg Monroe

In the Bucks' season-opening loss to the Knicks, Monroe, who was signed away from Detroit in the offseason, kick-started his Bucks' debut with 22 points, 14 rebounds and four assists. Gortat didn't exactly stuff the stat sheet against the Magic on Wednesday night, 10 points and eight rebounds, but he played solid defense on Nikola Vucevic.

Who's catching a DNP-CD?

Against the Magic, Jared Dudley, Kelly Oubre Jr., DeJuan Blair and Garrett Temple didn't see any game action. Will that change against the Bucks?

What free food will Wizards' fans get?

I'm hopeful for the rare Papa John's and McDonalds combo here.
