Finally, the Wizards' season starts tonight!
Sure, watching Pau Gasol block LeBron James in clutch moments or watching Stephen Curry light the scoreboard up last night was fun. But in the end, it's still not a substitute for watching my favorite NBA team play.
Therefore, I'm looking forward to seeing a Wizards win in Orlando tonight with their new pace-and-space offense and additions from the offseason.
Support the Caps tonight too!
I also realize that many, if not most of you support more local teams than just the Wizards.
The Capitals also have a huge game of their own as they play their Metropolitan Divisional rival -- the Pittsburgh Penguins. The game is on NBCSN at 8 p.m. ET.
The Caps have gone off to a hot start, with a 6-1-0 record. They currently have 12 points, third in the Metropolitan Division behind the New York Rangers and Islanders. They're also fourth in the Eastern Conference. But before you fret about the Caps' relatively low position in the East, they have only played seven games while the Rangers, Isles, and the Conference-leading Canadiens have played nine or ten each.
With the Caps' players, franchise star Alex Ovechkin scored five goals so far this season. But Evgeny Kuznetsov has been more impressive so far. He has nine points so far in his last three games (three goals and six assists). That's more than any other player in the last ten days.
As for the opponent, the Penguins are 4-4-0 so far. And as you are probably aware, Sidney Crosby is to Alex Ovechkin, kinda like how Kyrie Irving is to John Wall.
But to his credit, Crosby has a Stanley Cup. Irving ... not so much.

In the end...
This music video sums up my soliloquy:
Go Wizards and go Capitals! Feel free to chat on both games as they go on.
