The Wizards picked up their third win of the preseason in a convincing 127-118 win over the 76ers, which was only close thanks to a fourth quarter run by the Sixers' reserves.
Wizards jump out to hot start
The Washington Wizards stepped on the gas pedal early tonight against the Sixers, going 8 for 8 from the field and assisting on all 8 baskets to start the game. John Wall had 10 assists by the end of the first quarter. The Wizards didn't waste any time tonight establishing who the better team was tonight.
Oubre gets it done with his wingspan
Kelly Oubre had a great all-around game tonight, bouncing back from underwhelming performances against the Knicks and Bauru to put together his best performance of the preseason.
He redeemed himself in Philly with 16 points (3-4 FG, 1-2 3PT, 9-11 FT) 3 defensive rebounds, 1 assist and only two personal fouls. He also played with confidence bringing youthful intensity on the defensive end using his long arms and quick hands to collect 3 steals on the night. The Rook is learning, and with Alan Anderson now being out for extended time, that's good to see.
Otto Porter is perfect
The only thing that could stop Otto Porter tonight was the ankle he rolled late in the first half. He was all over the court doing the little things we've come to expect and making everything look easy on the offensive end. Porter was perfect from the field tonight, scoring 13 points (6-6 FG) and chipping in 3 rebounds and 3 assists in just 15 minutes.
Porter is sooooo good running the floor. Grant makes FG, Beal pushes, another easy bucket on a lob #WizardsTalk @CSNWizards #NBA #WizSixers
