The 2014-15 season continues to be the season where the Wizards make a name for themselves on the national stage. It started when they got ten national games on this season's schedule, including a Christmas Day game. Now, they're getting another game added to the slate, and this time, it will be on ABC.
Here's the press release from the Wizards announcing the move:
The NBA announced today that the Wizards' game vs. the Houston Rockets on March 29 will now be televised nationally on ABC at 12:30 p.m. Tipoff time for the game was originally set for 6:00 p.m.
A national game on ABC is the next big step for the Wizards' ascension. It really says something that the NBA is comfortable promoting John Wall vs James Harden and Dwight Howard as a big-time national game in the closing weeks of the regular season. Furthermore, it's nice to see Washington getting a chance to be the home team, given how local fans have been tuning in more to see the Wizards as they've improved this season.
