The Washington Wizards are adding another player to the mix as they get ready for training camp. Priority Sports, who represents James, tweeted this:
Congrats @KONJames10 on signing with the @WashWizards! Best of luck, we know you'll do great!
— Priority Sports (@PrioritySports) September 18, 2014
Additionally, Real GM is reporting the deal on their transactions page. The Wizards have not made an official announcement, as of yet, and terms of the deal haven't been released, but the deal is presumably for training camp only, similar to the one Xavier Silas received last week. Like Silas, he'll have a chance to compete for the Wizards' last remaining open roster spot.
The news shouldn't come as a big surprise. When news broke that the Wizards had signed Silas, both Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post and J. Michael of CSN Washington reported that a deal with James was likely.
Damion James was taken with the 24th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft and has four years of NBA experience with the Nets and the Spurs.
UPDATE: Did we mention Damion James played with Kevin Durant at Texas? We should probably mention that.
