Paul George attempted to block James Harden early in the fourth quarter during USA Basketball's Showcase between Team Blue and Team White. However, George fell and seriously injured his right leg in the process. He then had to be carried off in a stretcher. After, Team USA head coach Mike Krzyzewski called the game off. Team White won the game, 81-71.
Nothing else seems to matter much now, given that George seriously injured his right leg while trying to play for his country. So I'll touch very briefly on how the Wizards' players did in this game up until that point.
John Wall and Bradley Beal entered the game midway in the first quarter. Beal ultimately scored 11 points in the game on 3-of-6 shooting, and also made five free throws. Wall did not have a particularly good game. He went scoreless and had four turnovers, but had a nice block on Damian Lillard in the second quarter. And Derrick Rose had a couple nice highlights in the beginning of the game.
But the big story is that Paul George was seriously injured in this game. As Wizards fans, let's all give our best wishes and thoughts to Paul George, the Indiana Pacers organization, and their fans. No one wants to see players get injured, especially during a time like this.
We all wish Paul George a safe and speedy recovery.
