Glen Rice Jr. wins Summer League MVP

While the Wizards lost in the semifinals, the 2013 second-round pick earned the highest honor ... at least for Summer League.

Bad news: the Wizards lost in the Summer League semifinals. Much better news: Glen Rice Jr. is your 2014 NBA Summer League MVP, as announced on NBATV.

Rice earned the honor by averaging 25 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.5 steals a game on 46 percent shooting. He had rough moments, such as in the Wizards' semifinal loss, but he also scored 150 points on 96 shots and had the moment of the tournament.

So that's pretty cool. Rice is the second Wizard to win Summer League MVP in four seasons -- John Wall won the honors in 2010.

Even better: Otto Porter joined Rice on the first team, along with Tony Snell, Doug McDermott and Donatas Motiejunas. Russ Smith, T.J. Warren, Rudy Gobert, Jordan McRae and Tim Hardaway Jr. made the second team. Hooray!

(Full disclosure: SB Nation had a vote this year, which means I had a small portion of a vote since we just polled every person who attended and averaged the results. I had Rice as my MVP and Otto on the second team).
