Well, the favorite won. Despite falling behind 3-2, the Indiana Pacers rallied to beat the Atlanta Hawks, the worst team in the playoffs, in Game 7. Paul George was spectacular, Roy Hibbert looked competent and Lance Stephenson provided just the right dose of spice in a 92-80 victory.
Thus, the Wizards will begin the series on the road. Times have yet to be determined, but here is the schedule:
GAME 1: Monday at Indiana, 7 p.m., TNT
GAME 2: Wednesday at Indiana, 7 p.m., TNT
GAME 3: Friday at Washington, 8 p.m., ESPN
GAME 4: Sunday, May 11 at Washington, 8 p.m., TNT
GAME 5: Tuesday, May 13 at Indiana
GAME 6: Thursday, May 15 at Washington
GAME 7: Sunday, May 18 at Indiana
We'll have plenty of coverage of this matchup in the next couple days. As I noted the other day, Indiana's style mirrors Chicago, but with different challenges. George is a much better offensive player than anyone Chicago has and is coming off a great series, but Trevor Ariza can neutralize him. On the other end, Hibbert gets a much more favorable matchup.
