The NBA has suspended Wizards big man Nene for Game 4 of their series against the Bulls, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
The news is obviously disappointing, but all things considered, it's not particularly surprising. That was pretty aggressive behavior in a nationally televised postseason game, and the league has typically set the precedent of suspending guys in the playoffs for stuff like this.
Here's a GIF of the incident with Jimmy Butler that led to the suspension, via @cjzero:
Trevor Booker will likely take Nene's place in the starting lineup for Game 4, while Kevin Seraphin, Al Harrington and/or Drew Gooden might see additional minutes, as well.
Having the big Brazilian for a huge, huge game on Sunday afternoon obviously would have been nice, but here we are. If you want to talk about stepping up, this is going to be a huge opportunity for John Wall and Bradley Beal to take over a game. Nene should also look super dapper in a suit, which we can all take solace in. (Okay, it's been pointed out that he won't be wearing a suit since he won't be on the bench. I'm just trying to find the silver lining here.)
