Spring is in the air, which means two things:
- The Wizards are getting closer to making the playoffs.
- The cherry trees on the National Mall are getting ready to bloom.
What do these two things have in common? As you can see in the above photo, more than you probably thought.
Here's more on the shoe and the accompanying collection, from Adidas, who is also unveiling a 'Rose City' edition for fellow Adidas endorser Damian Lillard:
The Florist City Collection includes, socks, hats, sweatshirts and the iconic Crazy 1 basketball shoe all featuring a floral print design and colors commemorating the annual spring celebrations in the cities Wall and Lillard call home.
Damian's Rose City edition Crazy 1 pays homage to Portland's famous rose gardens and Rose Festival with a rose print on the upper and laces and green detailing mirrored after the flower's stem. Wall's Cherry Blossom edition Crazy 1 comes in time for fans to lace-up a pair for this year's Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. The cherry blossom print on the outsole and laces is contrasted with a grey upper designed to replicate the stone used in the monuments throughout the Nation's Capital.
Socks feature a sublimated floral print and iconic Portland and D.C. landmarks while the sweatshirts designed in partnership with Portland based Bridge & Burn feature Wall and Lillard specific detailing on the sleeve.
Here's a pic of the full Cherry Blossom Collection:
The Bullets hat with the cherry blossom hat on the brim? Verrrrrrrrrrrry nice. Although it's really hard to go wrong when you use the Bullets logo.
The collection drops on March 19, one day before the Wizards face the Blazers in Portland and can be purchased on adidas.com.
(Unrelated note: John Wall is 2-0 all-time against Damian Lillard.)
