John Wall (sort of) admits to (sort of) recruiting Kevin Durant

It's reeeeaaaallllll early and this could mean absolutely nothing, but hey, cool!

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Apologies for missing this over the weekend, but I'm sure you'll all enjoy it. As you probably know, Kevin Durant is a free agent in 2016. The entire league will be chasing him, and he's got a pretty damn good situation in Oklahoma City right now. That said, D.C. is his hometown, and John Wall has admitted he's already getting in KD's ear about maybe coming home.

Via Michael Lee of the Washington Post:

Wall and Durant both share the same trainer, Rob McClanaghan, and worked out together a few times last summer in Los Angeles. Wall didn't deny that has already started planting seeds about Durant playing in Washington.

"I throw a little slick shots here and there," Wall said on Friday with a laugh. "Try something."

Again: Probably means nothing, we're several years off, and it's a major longshot that Durant would actually consider D.C. But the Wizards currently have the cap space, and they'd be foolish to do too much to jeopardize that if there's even a one-percent chance Durant leaves OKC.

For what it's worth, this is what Durant said about Wall, via CSN Washington's Ben Standig:

"John is like my brother and I spent a lot of time with him this summer," Durant continued. "He worked his tail off and he's deserving of the All-Star nod. He's playing tremendous basketball right now. Just his overall game - his jump shot is getting better. Playmaking, he's being being more of a leader. You can see it just watching it on TV that he's grown."
