We noted previously that John Wall was invited to participate in the 2014 Slam Dunk contest and was considering accepting. However, it sounds like he's now leaning the other way because he's worried about injury concerns.
Via CSN Washington's J Michael:
When John Wall was named an All-Star for the first time last week, he told CSN Washington that he was considering invitations from the NBA to participate in the dunk contest and skills competition. He'll make up his mind Monday, but it appears he's learning towards the latter because of injury concerns.
Wall has a lingering sore heel and is worried about aggravating it in an exhibition, according to Michael. That's why the less-strenuous Skills Competition is a more likely bet.
And I am totally fine with that. Priority No. 1: Stay healthy for the Wizards.
