The Wizards' solid win over the Cavaliers was bittersweet because of what happened to Nene, the team's best big man. He left the game at the 6:13 mark of the third quarter with a sprained knee and did not return. We won't know more about his status until tomorrow, when he'll get an MRI.
Yep, Nene is having MRI Monday as I anticipated earlier. Sprain was just a preliminary diagnosis #WizardsTalk #NBA #WizCavs

The injury came at a very weird time. Nene was basically out of the play on the Wizards' possession, then gingerly limped down the court and told Marcin Gortat to pick up his man. Kyrie Irving drove at Nene and dumped it off to Spencer Hawes, who was fouled charging into Nene under the rim. It looked like the dreaded non-contract injury, but perhaps it was made worse by Hawes? Who knows.
Here's hoping Nene is OK. If not, I'd think Trevor Booker would start and Al Harrington would be counted on to step up.
