Magical Pixels, Wizards vs. Pelicans: To Nene Be The Glory

Nene loves to pray to God. We love to pray to Nene.

All hail Nene. While it may have been John Wall who really made the play, it was fitting that the Big Brazilian was the one to slam home the last-second game-winner over the Pelicans for a 94-93 home victory.

Nene tied his career-high with a game-high 30 points, and was the chief reason the Wizards were in a position to win this game at the end. Wall struggled offensively most of the game before coming alive at the end, making a clutch layup through traffic and then, on a called ISO for himself, finding Nene for the game winner. He finished with 10 points, 12 assists and five turnovers on 4-of-9 shooting.

The Wiz got some solid production from Marcin Gortat (16 points and 10 boards in 30 minutes), but Bradley Beal (11 points, 0-for-5 from three) and Trevor Ariza (four points) both had off nights. Martell Webster had a solid 12-point effort off the bench, and in his first game as a Wizard, Andre Miller recorded five points and three assists in 16 minutes.

But yea, this one was all 'bout Nene. O come, all ye faithful.
