Will We See Our Rookies On The Floor In The 2nd Half Of The Season?

Now that we have Andre Miller, a veteran PG who can definitely run the P&R and should really have no problem running our system since it's so P&R heavy. Shall we see more of our rookies in the 2nd half of the season. Our starters are firmly in place & Witt has his 9 man rotation ( starters, plus Book, Kev, Webster & now Miller in place of Temple) in place. Will he stretch it to accommodate the Rooks. I figure he won't stretch it to more than 11 and certainly Harrington has a spot on hold for him. Rather he replaces Booker or just is added on. But I feel what we need for our 2nd unit is floor spacing, Rice & Porter (if he regains his shooting form) can do that, manning down the other wing with Webster. I like Temple's defense & he should be thrown in as a defensive specialist in certain situations. But since our offense is so PG initiated off the P&R, I feel we need more catch & shoot guys on the floor as possible. Miller can draw the same attention as Wall for our 2nd unit since he's so crafty. Maybe even Wall will get pulled out earlier in the 1st to run the 2nd unit.

But, either way will Otto or Rice get more time. Temple got us in our sets, but didn't draw that much attention. Webster & Porter suffered a little in my opinion as the defense stayed home more. Even when Beal was added to the unit to give it more punch. The defense basically played him the same way, which resulted in his long two's. But with Miller, defenses could cheat off our wings more giving them better looks at the rim. If the defenses stay home Miller is crafty enough to get all the way to the rim unlike the former. So this could open up a spot for the Rooks to battle it out for that other wing spot to help stretch the floor.

I feel you can never have too many shooters on the roster. Beal, Ariza & Webster all go through slumps, so why not get Rice & Porter some minutes out there when they do. I know this rotation issue should of been hashed out in the first half of the season, but we worked with what we had. Now that Miller is here and almost every team in the East playoff hunt made moves, all of us will be still experimenting in the 2nd half. So it wouldn't be far fetched to give these Rooks more time, especially Rice Jr. whose shooting wasn't that bad as Porter's, although I would like to see both of them out there in the 2nd half of the season.
