The Wizards need to wear these socks for every game

Yes, the Wizards looked great in the socks they were wearing against the Knicks, but once you realize why they were wearing them, you'll want to see them even more.

One of the hottest topics during Tuesday's Wizards-Knicks game was the special socks the Wizards were wearing. Check out some of the responses on Twitter to the Wizards' sock game last night:

As it turns out, the socks were worn last night as part of the NBA's Hoops For Troops week, which runs from November 4th until Veteran's Day on November 11th. Every team in the NBA will be participating in service projects with military personnel as part of Hoops For Troops week. The Wizards already took part, helping military members prepare meal bags for the Capital Area Food Bank's Weekend Bag program.

So there you have it. Not only are the socks aesthetically pleasing, but they support a great cause. Please consider wearing them every single game from now until the end of time, Wizards.

UPDATE: You can actually buy these socks for yourself, if you're so inclined. (HT: Jamaar Joseph on Facebook for pointing that out to us.)
