The Wizards are playing an actual game

Bradley Beal's form is sweet, notes to take away from training camp, and ... the Wizards prepare to face the Chicago Bulls in their preseason opener This is your Wizards wake-up call.

Win McNamee

There wasn't much going on in the Wizards world yesterday, as the team flew to Chicago to face the Bulls in tonight's preseason opener.

That's right, Wizards fans, DC basketball begins tonight!

1. Bradley Beal's shot is a thing of beauty

Our guys over at WizardsXTRA took some video of Bradley Beal getting up shots after yesterday's practice. Nine in a row from beyond the arc. Nine. Take a look, via their Ball Hogs Youtube channel.

2. What we learned from training camp

Comcast SportsNet Wizards insider, J. Michael, recapped his five biggest takeaways from training camp leading up to tonight's game.

Some things we knew (John Wall is leading this team), some things we figured (Nene will miss practices and games for rest), and some things just make us happy to hear as much as possible (Otto Porter is playing with confidence, Glen Rice Jr. will be experimented in different spots).

This line in particular makes me smile:

"Porter is a different player, and anyone who called him a bust as a No. 3 overall pick will be eating crow after this season is done. He's healthy and has a confidence that wasn't present last season."

3. Wizards games start NOW!

As mentioned, after yesterday's practice the Wizards headed to Chicago in preparation for tonight's preseason opener to face Derrick Rose and the revamped Bulls.

As expected, only Martell Webster will be unavailable for tonight's game, which means we'll get a great look at almost everyone on the roster, depending on the varying amounts of minutes Randy Wittman decides to dish out to each player.

Jorge Castillo gives us the scoop as the Wizards will ditch the practice uniforms and finally don the game jerseys tonight.

The game will be televised live on CSN and heard on 99.1 WNEW with tip-off at 8 p.m. from the United Center.
