The Wizards released a statement today about Bradley Beal's post-injury surgery on his left wrist. Sounds like it went well:
Wizards guard Bradley Beal underwent successful surgery today to repair a non-displaced fracture of the scaphoid bone in his left (non-shooting) wrist. The procedure was performed by Dr. Michelle Carlson.
The injury occurred during the first quarter of Washington's preseason game against Charlotte in Greenville, SC, on October 10.
Beal is expected to miss approximately six weeks.
Yesterday, David Aldridge reported that the timeline could be about 6-8 weeks. Keeping that in mind, it's nice to hear that he might be ready to go on the early end of that.
Two pieces of good news for the team in one day: a nailbiter win over the Pistons at home and a promising prognosis on what was a super-bummer piece of news from yesterday.
We'll keep you posted if we learn anything else. Hopefully his recovery will be speedy.
