Assistant coaches Sam Cassell and Don Newman will split up duties coaching the Washington Wizards' Summer League team this year, according to a Wizards' press release. Cassell had been the primary coach of the squad in the past, with Don Zeirden and others taking turns as well.
The Wizards also released the final Summer League roster, which has fewer players on it than before. Here it is
- Devin Booker, F, Clemson
- Sundiata Gaines, G, China
- Frank Hassell, F, Israel
- Marquez Haynes, G, Germany
- Dennis Horner, F, Springfield Armor
- Lorne Jackson, G, Pepperdine
- Andrew Lawrence, G, College of Charleston
- Otto Porter, F, Georgetown
- Glen Rice Jr, G/F, Rio Grande Valley
- Chris Singleton, F, Wizards
- Maurice Sutton, F, Villanova
- Ryan Thompson, G, Belgium
- Jan Vesely, F, Wizards
I suspect Gaines, Rice, Porter, Singleton and Vesely will be the primary starters, but we'll see. I'll be out in Vegas there throughout the week for national and local stuff, though my flight gets in during the middle of the first game. Who else is coming out?
