Bradley Beal injury: Wizards' rookie injures his left ankle again

It apparently didn't take long for Bradley Beal to reinjure the tender left ankle that caused him to miss six games earlier this month. Beal came down awkwardly while trying to block a breakaway layup by Shannon Brown and had to leave the game with the Wizards down by seven early in the fourth quarter.

Beal committed a turnover and was racing to contest Brown's layup when he didn't land cleanly on his ankle. He rolled on the ground for several moments, pounding the floor repeatedly as if he was in serious pain. Luckily for the Wizards, he was able to walk off to the locker room on his own power, but it's never good when a body part is reinjured.

Beal had looked tentative since returning from the injury in the Wizards' home win over the Suns last Saturday. He had been coming off the bench since making his return. The injury originally occurred March 3 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

UPDATE: Beal will not return tonight.
