Wizards can't stand the Heat in the Miami, losing 99-71

Washington's offense goes anemic in the fourth quarter, and the Heat's... you know, didn't.

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The best team in the Eastern Conference vs. the worst team in the Eastern Conference. That wasn't enough to seal it, I guess. Miami went on a 21-0 run to end the game, and Washington wasn't able to score a single point in the last 7 minutes of the game.

I mean, that was bad. That wasn't a meltdown, like the one they had on Friday, but it was bad. Washington has a higher-ranked defense than Miami. I know, I know "they have LeBron and Wade." Blah blah blah. Who cares? They were getting stops... why did they stop getting stops? Communication breakdowns? Miami saying "I have a secret: I am not left-handed?" I mean... ugh.

I mean, really, they were in it! I swear! There were parts of the game where you were like "Oh, that was nice! Great look by Beal! Nice aggressiveness, Webster! Oh, hey Jan! I remember you!" Even in the fourth quarter! They got stops! They went on their own 7-0 run! They did things... just not in the last 7 minutes.

It's a short recap tonight, mostly because that breakdown in the 4th quarter doesn't need to be relived. Thanks for sticking with us tonight. Sorry we couldn't report a happier outcome. I don't think tonight was even a moral victory.
