Is this the last time the Washington Wizards will play the Sacramento Kings in their current form? It very well may be. Let's preview the game.
Where and When: The game is at 7 p.m. at the Verizon Center. You can watch the game on Comcast SportsNet.
Why Should I Care: If the Wizards win tonight and the Bobcats lose against the Bulls, there will finally be a team with less wins than the Wizards this season.
Also, as you may have heard, the Kings may be moving to Seattle next season. If you want to show the good fans of Sacramento some support, this is the night to do it.
Who's Out: Just poor Cartier Martin. Everyone else is healthy, though Bradley Beal is playing through pain.
What are the Kings good at? The Kings have done a great job of getting good shots near the rim, thanks to DeMarcus Cousins, Tyreke Evans and Isaiah Thomas. One-third of their shots come right at the cup and they lead the league in percentage of shots taken between 3-9 feet away. The Wizards' interior defense will be put to the test more than usual tonight.
What are they bad at? Remarkably, they're getting done without a lot of ball movement. They're in the bottom-third of teams in generating assists on those shots, which kinda gives you an idea of just how talented the team could be with a little more cohesiveness. Thomas leads the Kings with 3.1 assists per game. Garrett Temple is currently averaging 3.6 per game.
Is this really the last time the Sacramento Kings will play at the Verizon Center? Let's hope not. Sacramento has some of the best fans in the NBA, and they deserve much better than the hand they're getting dealt right now. Plus, we'd hate to see this game wiped off the record books.
