A New Bullets Forever Is Coming

A couple weeks ago, we revealed the new Bullets Forever logo and teased some changes that will be coming to the site. We can now tell you that those changes will go live very, very soon. I can't say exactly when, but rest assured, when we say very soon, we mean very soon. It's all part of a larger SB Nation redesign, which we've called "SB Nation United."

What does SB Nation United mean for you, the Bullets Forever user? Here are some general points to make.

  • SB Nation United is going to make our sites load faster and run better, meaning you can get to the content you want faster.
  • SB Nation United is going to make sure that you're seeing the best and brightest content up front with our flexible layout, modern design and reduction of clutter.
  • SB Nation United is going to make the experience on our sites run seamlessly from every platform, whether mobile, tablet or computer. No matter where you are, the experience will not change.
  • SB Nation United will not take away or change any of the community elements you love like FanPosts, FanShots, GameThreads or our current commenting system.

In a nutshell, we believe the viewer experience will improve. No longer will threads be pushed down the page when a new post is up. The site will not resemble a traditional reverse-chronological blog, but instead will feature the most relevant content up top rather than the most recent. You will have to click through to read all posts completely, but you can also more easily jump from post to post on the homepage. There is no more SB Nation mobile app; instead, the site will run the same way on all platforms.

We understand this is a lot of change, especially for those of you who have been with us since 2006. Change can be tough to grasp in any walk of life, especially on the Internet. But having worked closely with folks at the company on SB Nation United, I'm really excited about the future. Writers will have more tools to package content, and readers will have a better experience browsing the site.

Most importantly, nothing about our core mission will change. We are still committed to providing you and all other Wizards fans with the combination of news, community, quality content, features, voice and first-hand reporting that you can't find anywhere else. That's a pledge from everyone that's currently on the masthead.

Below the jump, I've included some screenshots of what the new sites will look like.
