Links: Washington Wizards showing interest in free agent Courtney Lee

Me? In D.C.?
Me? In D.C.?

In case you haven't noticed, we here at Bullets Forever kind of have you covered when it comes to the latest Wizards-related free agency rumors. Also, happy 4th o' July. Links:

  • Multiple sources have the Wizards among the teams interested in free agent guard Courtney Lee, who would undoubtedly be a nice piece to add (good 3-point shooter, solid perimeter defender) but could also end up costing more then he is worth given the number of potential suitors he has. [Us | Wizards Insider]
  • Sounds like Cartier Martin is set to remain with the Wizards, who have the upper hand in retaining the sharpshooter's services. [Us | CSN Washington]
  • Roger Mason Jr. is drawing interest from some other clubs, but given that he stuck around the team after being released last season (and is coaching the summer league squad alongside Maurice Evans), I'd bet he wants to stay with the Wizards.
  • Florida coach Billy Donovan went on 106.7 The Fan yesterday to talk up his former pupil, Bradley Beal.
  • Great stuff here from Adam McGinnis, who tells Wizards fans to simply "Rejoice" that the team got Beal. [Truth About It]
  • These are a couple days old, but here's some video of Beal's draft night experience (Editor's note: God I love this kid) and thoughts from Beal's parents after his introductory press conference (They seem awesome, too).
  • Ben Standig on why the Wizards need to pick up another point guard. [CSN Washington]
  • The biggest league-wide news yesterday was obviously Deron Williams re-signing with the Nets. Now all eyes are on whether the Nets can complete a deal for Dwight Howard and in a matter of days transform one of the NBA's worst teams into one of few that can challenge in the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference. [SB Nation | The Point Forward | Ball Don't Lie]
  • But as John Hollinger notes, a deal that sends to Howard to Brooklyn is pretty unlikely. [ESPN Insider]
  • As a matter of fact, it's kind of hard to tell where Howard could be headed. There's quite a few possibilities. [SB Nation]
  • Andrew Melnick writes that the Magic need to get young players and draft picks plus move some bad contracts whenever the team decides to move Howard. [SB Nation Tampa Bay]
  • As always, keep up with the latest NBA free agency rumors at SB Nation's StoryStream.
  • Sam Amick writes that free agency stands to begin moving at a more frenzied pace now that Deron Williams is off the market. [SI]
  • Eric Gordon has agreed to a four-year max contract with the Suns, but the Hornets are expected to match the offer sheet and retain Gordon. [SB Nation]
  • Sounds like Jason Terry has agreed to join the Celtics and wouldn't mind if Ray Allen returned to Boston, as well. [SB Nation]
  • Are there any teams that aren't interested in Steve Nash? [SB Nation]
  • The Rockets are taking a look at free agent sensation Jeremy Lin. [SB Nation]
  • Ziller on why Chris Paul is the perfect choice to lead Team USA in the 2012 Summer Olympics. [SB Nation]
  • Initially reports had Anthony Davis leaving Team USA due to a sprained ankle, but now it sounds like Davis will still report to the team's training camp. [SB Nation | Yahoo! Sports]
  • Chris Broussard will do anything to break a story first, including lying about himself being the first to break a story. [SB Nation]
