Despite so-so shooting percentages throughout the week in Las Vegas, Washington Wizards rookie Bradley Beal was named to the 2012 NBA All-Summer League Team. Beal was one of 13 players who were given that honor and one of five other members selected in the 2012 NBA Draft.
Here's the full team:
-
Damian Lillard (co-MVP)
-
Josh Selby (co-MVP)
- Malcolm Thomas
- Tobias Harris
- John Henson
- Jeremy Lamb
- Dominique Jones
- Cory Joseph
- Jimmy Butler
- Kemba Walker
- Donatas Motiejunas
- Jae Crowder
Beal didn't quite get to the level of John Wall, who won the 2010 NBA Summer League MVP, but this is a pretty clear indication that he was ranked highly among his peers. The only other rookie at his position to be named to the squad was Lamb, and while Lamb lit it up when the Rockets played the Wizards during the event, he did most of his damage when Beal wasn't guarding him. Also, the Wizards won the game, of course.
All in all, this was a pretty good indication that Beal had a pretty good week. Maybe not great, but he certainly played to his capabilities.
