Links: NBA Draft Combine Begins

Presswire

Here are today's links. A heads-up: I have some family issues I need to deal with over the next few days, so posting from me at least will probably be down. I'll keep doing the draft boards, but otherwise, I'll probably be dark for a bit.

  • Twelve questions about the NBA Draft combine, which begins today and is broadcasting live on ESPN3 right now. [CBS Sports]
  • Further evidence that this event is kind of lame: the agents for several top prospects have followed the lead of those in the past and won't have their clients do basketball drills. [Sam Amick]
  • Chris Miller reports that the Wizards interviewed Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Doron Lamb. They were impressed by the former. [@cmillscsn]
  • Sam Amick reports the Wizards are still leaning towards Thomas Robinson. Remember the golden rule about rumors around this time of year: everything has some truth to it, but nothing is absolutely 100 percent true. [Sports Illustrated]
  • General thoughts on the Wizards' tough call at No. 3. [Wizards Insider]
  • Best/worst case scenarios for every prospect. [Draft Express]
  • Here's one rumor suggesting the Hornets could move the No. 10 pick if a team takes on either Trevor Ariza or Emeka Okafor. Ariza has a contract for $7.3 million next year and a player option for $7.7 million in 2013-14. Okafor has a contract for $13.5 million next year and $14.5 for 2013-14 unless he uses his opt-out clause, which seems unlikely. [@Powell2daPeople]
  • This mock draft has the Wizards taking Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. [Hardwood Paroxysm]
  • This one has the Wizards taking Bradley Beal. [SLAM]
  • Nice piece on Beal by Chad Ford. It's fun watching Beal shoot. [ESPN]
  • Some really good draft profiles from At The Hive, our Hornets blog. [Thomas Robinson | Bradley Beal | Andre Drummond]
  • Another profile of Andre Drummond. [CSN Washington]
  • In case you missed it, Ted Leonsis wrote a long blog post responding to Mike Wise's column discussing the thin line between fiscally responsible and cheap. [Ted's Take]
  • In that blog post, Leonsis noted that the Wizards want to build a new practice facility in the near future. [CSN Washington | SB Nation D.C.]
  • Evaluating Shelvin Mack's season. [CSN Washington]
  • Jan Vesely learned a lot of "ghetto slang words" this season. [SB Nation D.C.]
  • Speaking of Vesely, his girlfriend is blogging for Truth About It.
  • Rudy Gay is on the block and the Raptors are interested. [SB Nation]
  • More on the Rudy Gay trade rumors from our Grizzlies blog. [Straight Outta Vancouver]
  • Debating the merits of Gay and Andre Iguodala for the Raptors. [Raptors HQ]
  • The mayor of Boston should probably sit a few plays off. [ESPN Boston]
  • Really interesting thoughts on whether a Heat loss tonight means the end of that style of team-building. [SB Nation]
