WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The postgame locker room scene last night was pretty brief, but here's what Washington Wizards players and coaches said following a 110-99 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.
RANDY WITTMAN
On where the game was lost: "We just couldn't get into a situation where we could put stops together. That's what it really boiled down to I think. LaMarcus [Aldridge] is a tough cover, but we can't let their guards come in and do what they did, [Jamal] Crawford and [Raymond] Felton."
On where things broke down defensively: "Ask me tomorrow. Game's just over with. Pick and rolls, it looked like we struggled with, but I can't comment on it until I take a look at the tape."
KEVIN SERAPHIN
On Marcus Camby shoving him: "I don't really know why he got mad, because I was just boxing him out, you know? Then, he just pushed me like that. I can't let people push me like that, so I fell down, then I stood up and told him what's up."
On whether he was surprised Camby did that to him: "I don't know. Maybe he tried to punk somebody, but if he wanted to punk somebody, it wasn't here. It wasn't in Washington."
MARCUS CAMBY
On what provoked him: "A lot of losing and frustration. Plus, the fact that I felt he had his forearm on my throat. So I was just trying to get some space."
On if Seraphin may have flopped a bit: (Laughs) "Probably."
On if he was surprised he got a Flagrant 2: "Surprised? Yeah, from what I've been told, he was pushing me first and I pushed him. They say it's always the second guy who gets the punt. It's something we're definitely going to send to the league and see what happens."
On if it's too expensive to fight, because of the fines: "Well yeah. I've always said I wished the NBA would be more like hockey, where they let two guys go out there and fight. Then, you'd see a lot of the tough guys you really aren't tough guys in the NBA. But that's just the way it is."
TREVOR BOOKER
On the difference between Pau Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge: "We trapped Pau, but we decided to go one-on-one on Aldridge. He can shoot over any player that guards him."
On his strategy to try to stop him: "The only thing that I try to do was push him out as far as I can. That's the only thing I can think of other than double-teaming him. But we were one-on-one the whole night, so I just tried to push him out as far as I could."
JOHN WALL
On the defensive breakdowns: "Basically, they got whatever they wanted. On the pick and rolls, Raymond Felton got going, Jamal Crawford got going, guys cut to the basket and especially LaMarcus scoring on the block."
On the attention to detail: "It wasn't good. The same thing we did against the Lakers, we wanted to do against them. Rotate, try double teaming and get back to the other guys. We didn't do a great job with that. They started to make shots in the fourth quarter, and in the first and second quarter, we didn't do a great job. They scored whenever"
