As if the Washington Wizards weren't shorthanded enough at the point guard position after John Wall's injury, newcomer Jannero Pargo is going to get X-rays on his injured side after getting hurt in Wednesday's practice, according to Craig Stouffer of the Washington Examiner. It's not quite clear exactly what the injury is (Kyle Weidie reported that he hurt his ribs, but we'll see), but Stouffer tweeted that Pargo is "not upbeat" about it.
Pargo signed a partially-guaranteed veteran's minimum deal with the Wizards right after Wall suffered his injury, and he is expected to provide backcourt insurance in the short term until Wall comes back. He probably wasn't going to start, but the hope is that he, A.J. Price and Shelvin Mack can hold the fort down until Wall returns in late November. If Pargo's injury is serious, though, that burden will fall on Price and Mack, with Jordan Crawford potentially sliding over to point guard to help.
Time will tell on that front, though. Hopefully, it's nothing serious.
