Wizards vs. Bucks preview: Meet Brandon Jennings' mates

Here's what you need to know about the Bucks heading into tonight's preseason tilt.

Mary Langenfeld-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Who's out for tonight's game? John Wall, Nene and Kevin Seraphin are still out for the Wizards and won't be with the team tonight in Milwaukee. For the Bucks, John Henson is out with a sprained knee for the next week, so we won't be seeing him. We also won't be seeing Doron Lamb, who tore an elbow ligament and hasn't played yet in the preseason. The Bucks will also be missing Luc Richard Mbah A Moute, who is still recovering from knee surgery over the summer.

Who did the Bucks pick up during the summer? Let's see: First, they traded three players and a first-round pick for Samuel Dalembert and the pick that became John Henson. They also used a second round pick on Doron Lamb. In free agency, they locked up Ersan Ilyasova to a 5 year, $40 million deal to keep him in Milwaukee. Then, they picked up some more free agents, signing Joel Pryzbilla and Marquis Daniels to take the place of Kwame Brown and Carlos Delfino, who joined new teams.

What happened the last time these two got together? The Wizards won their second in a row and pretty much ended the Bucks' playoff hopes with a 121-112 win in D.C. Jordan Crawford outdueled Monta Ellis in the final minutes, scoring a season-high 32 points.

The Bucks are in a similar position to the Wizards, are they not? That's a pretty fair assessment. Both teams are hoping to sneak into the playoffs with young, talented backcourts and by overcoming other teams with depth on the blocks. Odds are, at least one team is forced to reevaluate their future plans depending on how things go this season. Then again, the Bucks aren't missing their two best players going into the start of the season, so their margin for error is much slimmer than ours.

Anything else we should know? Much like the Bullets Forever staff, Monta Ellis enjoys playing NBA Live 96 while he travels.
