The Nets will unveil the new Barclays Center tonight, and the Wizards are just the sideshow. That'll undoubtedly be the focus of everyone covering this game. For the Wizards, though, it's an opportunity to show well in a hostile environment against a team that will play most of its key players. Hopefully, they'll rise to the occasion.
Some good news: Emeka Okafor will play, according to Wizards team correspondant Casey Phillips. Kevin Seraphin will not play with a calf injury, so I figure Okafor will start at center.
We already talked about seeing Andray Blatche in another uniform in this space, but he also gave this interview before the game where he discussed "NWT-Conditioning" again. Via Michael Lee:
"That's not what we talked about when it was time for me to shut it down. It was more about injuries. For them to put conditioning, it was basically like a slap in the face. It didn't really show too much loyalty," Blatche said. "I knew it was over. I just had that feeling. I knew either trade or amnesty was going to happen. Something had to happen."
