Wizards Links: NBA Lockout Update, Chris Singleton Discusses His Summer

A bunch of links for you this morning:

  • There was a small meeting yesterday between David Stern, Billy Hunter, Derek Fisher and the other key leaders in the labor dispute.  There wasn't a ton that came out of it, except for both sides agreeing not to publicly lambast each other.  That's all well and good, but there's no way Fisher can stop 400-something players from speaking their mind. [NY TimesSports Illustrated (video), SB Nation 1, SB Nation 2Chris Mannix]
  • Chris Singleton pens a really interesting op-ed in the Washington Times about his summer, his experiences at the draft and much more.  Here's the line that jumped out at me (emphasis mine): I know the gossip about what some of these guys have been doing off the court, and frankly, some people need to grow up a little and eliminate some of that. But over time, we will develop our chemistry, and we’ll make the city of D.C. proud of us. [Washington Times]
  • More from Nick Young's agent on the potential opportunity in China. [Ben Standig]
  • Is Singleton telling Nick Young to sign in China? [SB Nation D.C.]
  • Trevor Booker says one reason he's heading to Israel is because he felt like he had some unfinished business to tend to after getting hurt last year. [Michael Lee]
  • Javaris Crittenton apparently had a protected account that he deleted after he was charged with murder. Kyle Weidie was accepted to follow that account, and now, he publishes some of the things Crittenton was tweeting. Some of this stuff is nuts. [True Hoop]
  • More follow-up to that. [Truth About It]
  • Speaking of Crittenton, he waived his right to an extradition case and will return to Atlanta for trial. [LA Times]
  • Andrew Sharp's article on the D.C.-Baltimore game is absolutely phenomenal. [SB Nation]
  • My latest 1993 playoffs feature. [SB Nation]
