Game Notes: Othyus Jeffers will get the start at SG tonight for the Wizards. Coach Flip Saunders hopes that Jeffers presence will instill some energy and defensive effort in the starting unit. Saunders noted that in his two year tenure with the Wizards, he has not seen a player who practices as hard and gives as much effort as the NBDL callup.
Jordan Crawford is iffy for tonight as his back tightened up. He will attempt to give it a go, but will be closely monitored by the training staff. Andray Blatche has been given the green light as a starter.
Tonight most likely will not be pretty, but it most like will be fun if you like train wrecks. Both the Cavaliers and Wizards are playing out the string at this point, but both teams are likely to put forth a lot of effort to avoid the title of "worst team in the NBA" as well as being labeled with the dreaded "T" word, which has been know to infuriated the Basketball Gods.
If Jordan Crawford does manage to give it a go tonight it will interesting to see how he runs the team over the course of a full game. Saunders pointed out that following Wall's ejection, the team had to simplify it's offense to a large degree to adjust to Crawford's unfamiliarity with the position. Crawford, however, is going to have to do a better job of getting his teammates involved if his team is going to have a chance to win tonight. The worst case scenario would be for the Wizards starters to "go rogue" and start freelancing on the court against perceived inferior competition.
