Oklahoma City Thunder At Washington Wizards: Regular Season Game 66 Open Thread

NOTE: Andray Blatche, Rashard Lewis, and Cartier Martin are all out tonight.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: Kendrick Perkins will make his Thunder debut this evening.

The problem for the Wizards in their showdown against the Thunder remains the same problem that has beset the team during it's last few outings. The Wizards need scoring and they don't have anyone on the frontline who fill that need. Flip Saunders went on at length during his pregame session about how the lack of frontcourt scoring has allowed opposing teams to focus on locking down Nick Young and John Wall. Flip noted how in particular Young's game has fallen off (no more catch and shoot) as of late due to the increased attention. He also noted how Young continues to be bothered by physical play and that Young needs to learn how battle opposing guards more effectively. I'm not sure if I agree wholeheartedly with Saunders on this score as Young's play has noticeably slid post injury/flu. Hopefully, his health is on the upswing and we will an uptick in his output.

As for the Thunder, I encourage everyone to read the article Mike posted from our sister site Welcome to Loud City. As the year has progressed I become less and less certain the BOYD is a viable method for rebuilding this particular franchise, but I will leave that particular discussion to the other thread. Suffice to say, OKC is a remarkably constructed team that has the ability to score point in a hurry. If the refs are up to the same standard as Saturday's contest, we could see Kevin Durant go for 60.
