GAME NOTE: Rashard Lewis, Andray Blatche and Cartier Martin are out tonight. Nick Young is questionable.
Last minute switcheroo from the Wizards, Josh Howard is now starting.
I'm fairly certain that most of the people tuning in for tonight's contest who are not diehard Wizards fans are here for the Blake Griffin show. Griffin brings his Youtube sensation game and his runaway ROY campaign to DC tonight to take on 2010's bridesmaid John Wall. Opposing Griffin on the opposite end of the floor will be Trevor Booker, which is can either be seen as a reward for Booker's recent play, or as the ultimate trial by fire. As Flip Saunders pointed out during his pregame address, Booker is giving four full inches to the 6'10 Griffin and his effectiveness will be measure in not how many points Griffin scores but in how hard he will have to work for those points.
The pressing issue for the Wizards tonight will be scoring with both Blatche and Lewis out and Young questionable. As Blatche's absence from the Milwaukee game semi-proved, the Wizards lack a true low post scoring presence. The onus of the scoring load will have to come from the guards (or an Yi explosion) and it will be interesting to see whether John Wall attempts to put the team on his shoulders and whether Jordan Crawford can play within the flow of the offense.
PG John Wall
SG Nick Young (questionable)
C JaVale McGee
SF Josh Howard
PF Trevor Booker
PG Randy Foye
SG Mo Williams
C DeAndre Jordan
SF Tyan Gomes
PF Blake Griffin
Programming Note: One thing Mike and I have noticed in the postgame threads is a lot of "do you even watch the games" type of criticism. I'm not going to call anyone out, but lets assume that we all watch the games. Now since I write the quick recap between the end of the game and running to the locker room, I don't have a whole lot of time to moderate. However, I will be paying closer attention from now on. Now enjoy Blake Griffin and the rest of your evening.
