Busy, busy day today on the NBA free agency front, though not for the Wizards. Here's everything that's happened today:
- On the Wizards' front, Josh Howard is considering the Spurs, Jazz, Bulls, Nets, Nuggets and Wizards, reports Chris Broussard. Mo Evans is considering 3-4 teams, including the Wizards, he tells Zach Lowe.
- The latest chapter of the ongoing ballad of CP3-BO involves the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets talking about a three-team deal that sends Paul to the Lakers, Pau Gasol to Houston and Luis Scola and Kevin Martin to New Orleans. Please don't do that, Hornets. That's awful.
- Meanwhile, the Celtics keep moving on up in the CP3-BO sweepstakes, offering a package centered around Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green.
- Tyson Chandler pondered an offer from the Golden State Warriors, then said, "LOL, nope," and is now expected to sign with the Knicks for four years and $58 million.
- To make that happen, the Knicks will have to remove Chauncey Billups from their roster in some way, likely through the amnesty clause. Billups ain't too happy 'bout that, but I imagine he'll be happier if Miami can get him.
- The Knicks are probably out of the CP3-BO sweepstakes if they do sign Chandler, unless the Hornets want Amar'e Stoudemire for him.
- Good old buddy Caron Butler got a pretty nice three-year, $24 million dollar deal to play for the Los Angeles Clippers.
- The honor for the worst contract of the winter so far belongs to the Detroit Pistons, who gave Tayshaun Prince a four-year, $27 million deal. They also gave Jonas Jerebko, a guy who plays the same position as Prince and is younger, a four-year, $16 million deal. The Pistons, folks.
- Shane Battier quoted Jimmy Buffet and announced he was signing with the Miami Heat.
- Eddy Curry also is taking his talents to South Beach. Wonder if his one-hour special will be on the Food Network.
- Shannon Brown gets a one-year, $3.5 million deal to go to the Phoenix Suns and replace the stranded Aaron Brooks.
- Mike Dunleavy gets a pretty decent two-year, $7.5 million deal to play for Milwaukee.
- The Cavaliers may or may not amnesty Baron Davis.
