It's (essentially) official: John Wall will be the pick

I mentioned this in a FanShot last night, but Michael Lee has more details on how the Wizards have apparently already decided to take John Wall with the number one pick in the NBA Draft.

David Falk, agent for Ohio State junior Evan Turner, said that his client would not work out for the Wizards. Falk and Turner were both in attendance at Game 4 of the NBA Finals in Boston. Falk said Turner would only work out for Philadelphia, which holds the No. 2 pick, on June 17 - the same day Wall will work out for the Wizards. Wall is currently scheduled to workout for the 76ers the day before.

Turner himself has also conceded, saying that he did all that he could.  Not that any of this is a surprise, but it is nice to hear that the Wizards aren't overthinking this decision.

On another note, this was my favorite part of Lee's report.

The Wizards' leanings have not been a secret, with Coach Flip Saunders saying that Wall had the potential to "revolutionize the position." And, it was obvious from the night that the franchise won the NBA draft lottery, when Leonsis was spotted doing the teapot-inspired dance that Wall popularized in his one season in Lexington, K.Y.

Awesome.  This would be a pretty funny fan contest, by the way.  Do a raffle for one fan to win the right to do the John Wall dance with Wall and Leonsis.
