If tonight's tilt between the Washington Wizards and the Sacramento Kings were a comic book, it would be a battle between the Juggernaut and the Blob, the unstoppable force meeting the immovable object. Of course, both teams have proven to be both very movable and very stoppable this season, so it will be interesting to see how this game plays out.
The Kings, frankly, are a mess. DeMarcus Cousins, their top draft pick, is doing everything to live down to his reputation that cost him a bigger payday at the draft. He has already been kicked out of practice several times and is reportedly feuding with coaches on Sacramento's staff. Tyreke Evans has been up and down this season, and has started to develop a troubling tendency to go one on five against defenses. You have players who are openly questioning whether other teammates know the playbook, and Coach Paul Westphal has shuffled the starting lineup several times in an attempt to gain some sort of consistent output.
So, on paper, it appears that this is a a team that the Wizards could break their road losing streak against.
Of course, the Kings are looking at this game the same way.
In my mind, this game is a must win for the Wizards because they are catching a team at it's nadir. Of course, the team continues to defy my expectations by playing good teams close, and losing to bad teams by a zillion points. So it just as likely that Omri Casspi goes for a triple double on us tonight.
What do you guys think?
