Preseason is here!

Tonight marks the beginning of the Wizards' preseason, and I have little more to add to Truth About It's wonderful thoughts here.  Last year, the Wizards had to pretend preseason mattered.  This year, it actually does matter, because there are positions up for grabs involving young players who need to step in and put their mark on the team.  The Wizards were full of veterans last year who coast a bit in the preseason; this year, they're full of young players who can't afford to coast.  Therefore, it matters.

We'll get everything started with a game thread that'll tip at 5 -- extra early for the 8:30 start.  We'll also keep you posted on any updates regarding the game, such as whether Gilbert Arenas will play or not.  In the meantime, I want to leave you with this line from Michael Lee's latest on Andray Blatche.

Andray Blatche often greeted it with rolling eyes or sulking. He never understood why Antawn Jamison,Brendan Haywood and Caron Butler were so hard on him, so unfair with a young guy who entered the NBA out of high school and was still trying to find his way.

It wasn't until after those players were gone that it sunk in.

Discuss.
