Hilton Armstrong was signed to be an insurance big man that could provide a little shot blocking and interior defense in a pinch. In the preseason, he did just that, playing pretty much like we all expected. He moves relatively well for a big man, but he's not all that strong, and his mid-range jump shot really isn't that great. Still, for the veteran's minimum, you could certainly do worse. I would have preferred someone from the D-League, but Armstrong is fine.
I just hope we don't sell him as someone who can be an impact player because he was a lottery pick once upon a time. As a spare big man, he's fine. Anything more, and the season probably isn't going anywhere.
Regardless, let's predict his numbers. As a reminder, predict as many or as few of these as you'd like.
