(This news came to my inbox yesterday, but I got sidetracked).
The Wizards are going to hold a public memorial for deceased owner Abe Pollin a week from today (December 8) in the Verizon Center at 7 p.m. The event, entitled "Remembering Abe," is free and will feature speakers that will pay tribute to Pollin's life and legacy. Not sure who the speakers are yet, but if I find out, I'll let you all know.
I'm planning on attending the ceremony (not sure if this is a credentialed thing), so if you are as well, let me know and maybe we can meet up.
