Regular Season Game 54
Wizards (31-22) at Timberwolves (25-30)
Target Center
3:30 PM
None (thanks ABC)
Previous Results: Wizards 112, Timberwolves 100.
Pretty much everything from the last Timberwolves game preview applies, but a couple additional points:
- Minnesota is really struggling, having lost all three since the all-star break. It seems like this happens every year. They stay in contention until the all-star break, then fall apart. Then again, it's probably just because I have a short memory.
- After failing in his attempt to intimidate Andray Blatche with words, a part of me sees Kevin Garnett absolutely dominating. Then I remember that Garnett, for all his talent, is too passive and on the wrong team. Still, I wouldn't put it past him to really try extra hard to show up Blatche. At least until Eddie puts in Michael Ruffin in crunch time.
- Even when they haven't been very good, Minnesota has been a strong home team. They had a winning record at home last year despite only going 33-49, and they're also over .500 at the Target Center this year. The Wizards, as we all know, haven't been a good road team since the 70s, and haven't been all that great this year.
Your lines for this afternoon:
Wizards at Timberwolves: Timberwolves by 4.
Over/Under on Big 2: 49.7 points.
This is an open game thread, so if anyone wants to try to narrow down Kevin McHale's 5 worst moves as GM, put it here.
