Honestly, those first two weeks without The Dew was the roughest two weeks of my life. I'm talking headaches, sweats and everything. Before that I drank at least six 12 ounce Mountain Dews a day. It was so bad at one point that I had to have a cold one right there at the night stand before I went to bed. I had to get the coasters and let it drip a lil' bit and just have it waiting on me. Come 2 a.m.., I'd wake up out of my sleep, I'd pop one open and hear the fizz sound...and just down it! Then I always had to have another one in the morning when I woke up. Before practice I had one too and before games I would knock back two.

Via Caron Butler's 'New' blog on NBA.com. If you recall, Caron previously made an initial blog post on HoopsHype. Is he now a double blogger? And damn, I never knew his obsession with Mountain Dew was that bad. Downing them at 2 am?! I'm surprised the dude doesn't have bad stomach ulcers.

No More Soda For Tuff Juice

Editor's Note: Interesting Caron Q&A from the official site. I thought he cut out soda already when he stopped drinking Mountain Dew, but apparently not. -Mike "I cut out soda this summer. I stopped drinking soda April 8th, I have been away from soda basically the whole summer."

Multiple sources have confirmed that the Wizards engaged in conversations with the Phoenix Suns about acquiring all-star forward Amare Stoudemire last month, but the talks stalled when the Suns demanded Butler. Another league source added that Golden State and Portland have also attempted to land Butler, but Grunfeld hasn't budged.

Michael Lee. If I could be sure that Amare was healthy and was re-signing after next year, I'd probably give up Butler for him.

Coaching Guidance With A Healthy Dose of Player Leadership

Wizards Got You Down?

Woe are the Wizards, but Caron's shot was great!

Butler Still Not Available

"I've heard multiple rumblings in the past month that Washington has made rugged forward Caron Butler available. But our research disputes that. Teams are certainly inquiring about Butler, but sources with knowledge of the Wizards' thinking insist that it's a misstatement to say that they're shopping him. You'd figure that a team mired at 10-39 would consider moving anyone on its roster. The Wiz, though, are telling teams that they'd expect a lot in return for Butler, believing that they're poised for a jump back up the standings by keeping him and adding a high draft pick along with a new coach next season. Such a stance obviously assumes that Gilbert Arenas can make something close to a full recovery from his three knee surgeries in an 18-month span. The Wiz contend that their situation is not nearly as bleak as it appears looking at their record because they already know that they're going to be adding so much next season, but let's be blunt: How Arenas rebounds is bigger than anything else." -via Mark Stein, ESPN.com
