With the expected hiring of Flip Saunders, Jamison also had a great quote while explaining that things will be different for the younger players next season. "I think the coaching staff is really going to have to get them. They've been in a nice bed and breakfast the last couple of seasons," Jamison said.
As long as I'm on this team and as long as I'm not doing that and [Butler]'s not doing that, it won't happen. And I don't want to hear 'Play the young guys and get them ready' either. Nah, I'm not going to be a part of that. It's about going out there and competing with the guys you feel can help you win the game. Of course we've got to have some guys play minutes they wouldn't normally play, but in the words of Herman Edwards: 'You play to win the game.' That's what I plan on going out there and doing.
That, however, doesn't mean the 8-32 Wizards are giving up on the season. The second half won't feature a throwing-in-the-towel-type demise in an attempt to better position themselves to win the lottery for this summer's draft, and it won't be an attempt to give their younger players more experience for next year.
"I will not be a part of that," team captain Antawn Jamison said. "We're playing, and we're playing to win."
Said teammate Mike James: "Yeah, the fight's still there. It's got to be there. If it ain't, it's going to be even longer of a season, so we have no choice. We got to fight."
Yes, the Wizards would not have won with game without the young Choppa, but my game MVP is none other than Antawn Jamison.
The Gentleman Jamison spoke words about the attitude in the locker room and backed them up. Statistically, it wasn't one of his better games....AJ's stat line actually teeters on mundane (for his standard). But he made his presence felt.....Jamison was all over the court, getting his hands on loose balls, hitting a huge trey, and overall, TCOB.
Wizards down one, 9.2 seconds to play, must-win game. What's the play?
Wizznutzz:
There's a play Eddie Jordan loves to run called "ISO Giant," and it goes like this:
Dixon inbounds to McGee. McGee dunks the ball in his own basket. Wizards now down three. Dixon inbounds to Muresan, who has been summoned from VIP lounge, where he runs the executive nacho dispenser. Muresan swings to Jamison in the corner. Defense rotates, but Arenas anticipates the shift, positions wheelchair behind the defender and yanks his shorts down. Jamison drops 3-point finger roll at the buzzer. Analyst Doug Collins screams "Kiss me, Michael!" and stabs DeShawn Stevenson. Wizards make technical free throw, win game.

"This is like Groundhog Day, man....It feels like I was standing here saying the same things last year."
Antawn Jamison was pulled from practice after a few drills. He's experiencing some stiffness in his hip. The team is calling it a right hip flexor strain. Antawn said he's going to be fine.
The future is the future. I want to be back in Washington, but weird things happen in free agency. If Antawn is not back, then there’s no point in me coming back because he’s part of my success, too. When you’re doing pick and roll with a player like him, they can’t double you, they can’t trap you because you have a pick and pop guy who can shoot the three at your four position. My success is because of him too. If he doesn’t come back, I’m not coming back.
I know everybody is focusing on whether I’m coming back, but I’m focusing on what he’s doing. If he doesn’t come back, then I’m not coming back.
