NBA 2011-12 Season saved?

Potentially great news.  I'm sure more details will emerge over the next day or so, but this is being reported in multiple sources: http://espn.go.com/espn/print?id=7281052&type=story   NBA...

NBA and NBPA Negotiations To Continue This Saturday

It seems that for the last several weeks both sides have been talking, only to break up at the end with "no more talks scheduled." Now, it looks like they are about to meet again, I think that we expected this anyway, but this time, it remains to be seen what the NBA will do. NBA lays off 11% of corporate staff and claims it is not lockout related

The New York Times released an article last Friday that the NBA has laid off 114 people, or 11% of its corporate office staff in a cost cutting measure to save $50 million. According to the article, 275 positions have been eliminated since 2008 which includes the transition of NBA TV to Turner Broadcasting. Though the league claims that this initiative had nothing to do with the lockout directly, it's hard to say that the lockout didn't have any indirect effect at least.

Jamison Insists Players More Unified Than in '98

This is a bad sign. Jamison is one of the few active NBA players who remembers the last lockout. This leads me to believe that we could be in for the long haul.
