Here's your first draft day rumor!

HoopsWorld is reporting that a deal where Houston and Washington could swap their first round picks and send Luther Head to Washington could be in the works.

Random Thoughts on Tonight's Draft

Prada covered most of my thoughts on tonight's draft, but I just can't let one of the biggest dates on the NBA Calendar go by without saying something so here goes... For me, this draft is more...

If he had his druthers, Beasley said he would prefer to play for the Washington Wizards, the NBA team closest to his hometown of Frederick, Md. But there appears to be no way he will last long enough for the Wizards to take him with their 18th pick in the first round. Can somebody get my man some druthers???

Hibbert, who is the most experienced center in a draft deep at that position, declined an invitation to work out for the Wizards because his agent felt that he is a lock to go higher than 18th. Grunfeld said that would not prevent the Wizards from taking him.

Ivan Carter delivers the reasoning behind Roy's decision not to work out with the Wizards. I can understand that reasoning, but it leads to the inevitable question of "If he thinks he's going before #18, then why did he schedule two (2) workouts with Utah who doesn't pick until #23?"

Even if you are just looking for a solid contributor in the second round, you have your work cut out for you. Five years after the draft, second rounders are more likely to be sitting at home watching basketball on television than to be contributing to an NBA team: 30% of second rounders never played in an NBA game, while 68% are out of the league within five years.

Something to keep in mind as you hunt for Sr. Prolopo.

Who (or what) is Sr. Prolopo?

To answer the title question, Sr. Prolopo is a Second Round Productive Low Post player.  Señor Prolopo has been abundant in recent drafts and has given each team lucky enough to find him an...

Hollinger rates this year's crop of bigs

I know we gave Hollinger some flack for the whole 33 win prediction, but he's still one of best writers in the business. I'd highly recommend reading it, even if you don't agree with his assessments of all the players. In unrelated news, congrats to Truth for getting his profile on Walter Sharpe linked to by Wizards Insider today.
