Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Open thread: Regular season game 48

Caron's probably out, this trade looks like it'll actually happen, and I have a paper to write.  So this will be very brief.

Lines are Spurs by 6.5 and 185 on total points.

I'm not supposed to influence your picks, but methinks this is going to get very ugly.

UPDATE A few quick links from the Snake:

Some love from Spurs fans for Antonio Daniels.
A good read, even if it's about bad news.

I see another Jazz game here, it'll be ugly, but it'll stay close.  I doubt they'll get the W, but who knows.

Stop shooting threes.

Work Jamison on Finley.  Please.

Threes
Stevenson, Daniels, and RMJ must be the streakiest three-point shooters in league.  How can we manage to be the only team that doesn't have a three-point specialist?

I hate SA
Mason and Deshawn are pretty much the same player, same with Darius and Opec but yet they all play long stretches together at the same time. I do not understand it.

This team needs Caron and Gil back because the offense is pathetic.

What? They don't have TV in the D-League? Don't watch me, watch TV.

Random observations from the Phone Booth
  1. Was anyone else surprised by how there were soooo many San Antonio fans at the fame last night?

  2. How funny was it when they put two Spurs players on the Kiss Cam and Manu Ginobli actually obliged?

ok, last thing on the games and the refs...
David Guthrie was pretty awful in his own right.

"Guthrie's joy was apparent as he gave a play by play of his first experience as a full time NBA referee.  The game: Milwaukee Bucks vs. New Jersey Nets.  The crew: Steve Javie and Tim Donaghy."

He must have learned a lot from those two.
