I hate blowouts, I really do.  As a fan, they're no fun to watch, and it's natural to get really pissed off at every little thing that goes wrong.  So, understandably, I was annoyed as soon as this game was over, and I remember thinking to myself "Good teams don't do this."

But then, I remembered that, without Butler or Arenas, this is a pretty bad team.  It's the same team we saw in the playoffs last year, except with a couple new rookies replacing established sucky veterans.  We shouldn't be competing with Toronto on their home court with the cast we had out there tonight, and it was gravy that we even won the night before.

So yeah, this result sucked, but it's not so bad.  I'm sure this'll come across like I'm making excuses, but I don't think there's anything concerning to take away from tonight, even though it was such a bad result.

for some reason this one didn't bother me
i felt like we were playing with the house's money after getting a win against toronto at home without butler in the lineup. once toronto started draining three pointers left and right i knew we were in trouble, but it didn't bug me for whatever reason. toronto is a good team.

the milwaukee game on the other hand. ugh. to repeat what someone else said in a different thread, they just lost by 40 points to the sixers! that's a tough game to give up to the field.

Yeah, the Milwaukee game sucked ass
I'm not going to disagree there.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

I wasn't that upset either -
I think I was on a high from Tuesday's win which was so completely unexpected. I didn't think they would be able to play at that high of a level for two nights in a row without Caron. Once the game got underway and Toronto rolled out to a 12 (I think) point lead and Haywood picked up those fouls, I knew it was going to be a long night.

Yeah.
Just watching the opening minutes, you knew it was gonna be a long game. I don't like AD looking THAT bad though.

The real problem was
the lack of effort. I mean, we can all sit here and explain how "we didn't expect to win anyway," therefore it doesn't matter that we lost, but the problem is the Wizards ALSO seemed to have the exact same thought process. As fans it's ok to think like that - but the team needs to grow up a little bit. I mean, the rookies and youngsters must take on the challenge. No need to get blown out by 40.

I will concede, it's kinda hard w/o Gil and Butler.

I've been known to be right.

Completely Agree
I'm with Icantfeelmyface on this one.  I didn't expect a win either.  What I did expect was for the Wizards to show some pride, play hard, keep it close for three quarters, and be able to hang their heads high after a valiant effort against a good team.  Despite not winning, such an effort would broadcast to the league how committed the Wizards are to playing good basketball night in and night out.  In fact, it was this sort of play the Wizards showed in last year's playoffs that I feel earned them a lot of respect.

Instead, they wasted everybody's time by even bothering to show up.  The Toronto Globe and Mail called the game a "laugher".  Nobody should be laughing at the Wizards expense.  If the Wizards are planning on tanking any more games, then they should do every fan a favor by sending out a mass email so that nobody bothers to pay attention.  That's the least the team should do.

point taken
but you have to give toronto some credit. they played lights out.

and i don't have a lot of confidence in the wiz getting wins when blatche is our #2 offensive option. i'm still shocked we beat the raptors in the first game. i think that counts for something.
