  • Pick Axe and Roll, SB Nation's new Denver Nuggets Blog, is hosting the latest edition of the Blogger MVP/Roy Rankings.  Caron just missed out on making the top 10 in this go around.
  • It's looking more and more likely that Chris Webber will be a Wizard next season.  I say this because it looks like he's getting ready to reunite with Don Nelson in Golden State.
  • If you haven't noticed, the Washington Times has a new beat writer for the Wizards.  Who?  Mike Jones! (Massive groaning)  It looks like Mike is Outlet more than his predecessor, so you might want to keep an eye out on that.
  • Sam Smith suggests a Brand for Arenas trade, making Brand the 250th player to be suggested by Smith in a trade for Arenas.  In honor of being number 250, Brand will receive a $25 gift certificate to Sizzler.  As you could expect, Prada isn't a fan of the idea.
  • Gilbert blogs again, he says "[Nick Young's] raw talent is very polished."  If Nick's raw stuff is polished, I'd hate to see how polished his polished talent is.
  • Brahsome is livid over Nick Young being kept out of the dunk contest.  Mister Irrelevant is a little more understanding, they also really liked the dunk on LeBron.
  • Caron Butler: UConn's finest.
  • Andray Blatche: Syracuse's finest.
  • Just as an added thought, trading for Elton Brand would've been a much better idea seven years ago when they could've got him for this guy.

speaking of 10 years

Michael Lee
He primarily writes features for Wizards Insider now (I think -- I don't get the paper version of the Post), but he did do beat reporting for the Wiz up until about five or six years ago, IIRC. He still fills in for Ivan sometimes, and I have to say I prefer Mike's style to Ivan's ...

Meh
I personally think Ivan's one of the five best beat writers in the country, and Mike is too confrontational (though I love his blog features on other teams).
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

Andray Blatche
Can anyone explain while Andray's wikipedia still says: "Blatche has admitted to being a member of The Bloods street gang." -- without a citation?

Here's a forum discussion on it:

that's weird
Frankly, Blatche doesn't seem like he knows how to handle himself on the streets, so it's odd he would have a reputation as a gang member.

Wikipedia has a tendency to delete crazy stuff you try to put in there.  Not that Wikipedia is accurate.  A few months ago I edited Calvin Boothe's page to say that "Booth has earned a reputation as one of the most electrifying players in the NBA."  Still cracks me up.  It got deleted disappointingly fast.

Yeah because who wants a 20-10 lowpost monster?
When you can have a 2guard trapped in a pg's body that can run a 1-man offense consistently?

Im sorry, but I would do a Gilbert for Brand trade in less than one second. I wouldnt even have to think about it. We're already a good team right now without Gilbert and if you added Elton Brand to that??? 24 and 10 a night on 55% shooooting, monster lowpost presence on offense plus a shotblocker and very good defender that would lock down the paint on defense with Haywood......  We could contend right away, period. Even if it was no Gilbert in the lineup and Brand replaced Jamison at PF, a team around Butler/Brand inside/out duo could contend..... but with Jamison added to that making a trio???? OMFG we would be a MONSTER.

Sorry, but if that trade was possible Gilbert would have to go ASAP. That is a no-brainer.
