Open thread: Regular season game 38

Heading out the door, so this will be brief.  I apologize.

The line is Wizards by 8, and the over/under for Butler/Jamison is 42.9 points.

While you're waiting, some reading material:

This is an open game thread, so mock Jared Jeffries here.  We really have no excuses for not winning here.

Just got back from the game -
Very easy win tonight. Lot less NY fans than I expected. Only saw one Fire Isaiah sign. Caron also set the franchise record for most consecutive free throws. I think he is up to 53 or 54. 4-1 in the past five games - pretty damn good.

Nice win
And a much better job from the bench. Mason's back in the role he's pretty good at playing, Young had a  nice game, and Pecherov looks legit. Opec's got a nice touch from the outside and made a cute  little reverse when it opened up to him. What was more impressive were the rebounds he pulled down in traffic. Eddie seems impressed enough to give him meaningful minutes. If he can play decently at the defensive end and provide a decent shooting touch on offense, he'll help greatly on the (recently many) nights Blatche doesn't show up.

I'm starting to get a little disappointed in Andray. Not only did he get very little done before the game was decided, but the shots he hoisted in garbage time suggested he didn't take his minutes very seriously. If I'm Eddie, I'm not happy.

oleksiy!
i've done a complete 180. all of a sudden, i'm really excited about what pecherov can bring to the team. forget the three pointers, if he can knock down 15 footers on the baseline and from the wing consistently, grab boards and finish around the rim, watch out for the wizards.

looks to me like pecherov is going to get songaila's minutes. darius has not played well at all this season.

Hell no theyre not better without Arenas
BUT, theyre starting lineup is better served with AD setting/dictating the tempo, getting everyone into the flow of the offense, initiating the offense with an unselfish tone, getting the ball movement and inside game started, and playing mistake-free/ efficient basketball.

Theyre not better without Gilbert Arenas, theyre better with him as long as he takes better shots, doesnt dominate the ball, fits into what we are doing RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT, and plays more of a team game upon return.

I think best-case scenario they would be a MUCH MUCH better team with Gilbert Arenas added as our 6th man to our roster as it is right now.
