Miles to go

Looks like those of us who were impressed by Aaron Miles' summer league play and hoped he might join the Wizards will have to settle for some disappointment. The Lawrence Journal-World & News is reporting that Miles has signed with a Spanish club.

I guess we'll have to be happy with Donnell Taylor as the third PG, although Gil's apparently chummy with Brian Chase, so maybe he'll grab a spot. Or since we're so close to the luxury tax threshhold, maybe we'll stick with only 2 PGs.

This represents the view of the user who wrote the FanPost, and not the entire Bullets Forever community. We're a place of many opinions, not just one.

How Many Roster Spots Are There?
If Blatche signs, that will mean the Wizards will have 12 players under contract.  This is without Donnell Taylor, Brian Chase, or Aaron Miles.  How many more contracts can the Wizards give out?

15 is maximum
I think the rule is you have to have 13 players under contract, only 12 of which are active at any one time. So luxury tax notwithstanding, they could sign a few more guys. Seems like they're so close to the tax that they're unlikely to do so.

I'm pretty sure this is accurate, but I'm too lazy to make certain. Perhaps an enterprising young go-getter like Prada will stumble by and correct me if I'm wrong.

No, you're right
I think.

As far as roster spots, we have Arenas, Stevenson, Butler, Jamison, Haywood, Etan, Songaila, NY1, D-Mac, AD, and O-Pec under contract right now.  Blatche makes 12, and the team offered Mike Hall a non-guaranteed contract for around 800,000, so if he makes the team, that's 13.  They could go into the season with just those 13, though they probably won't.  I bet Roger Mason will be back, and if not him, then Brian Chase has as good a chance as anyone of making the team.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

In That Case, What About Minnesota?
After the KG deal, they now have 17 players under contract (according to Hoops Hype).  Can we assume that they're looking for a team to unload some of their players on?  Do you think we can perhaps put together a package to get Mark Blount?  Do we even want Mark Blount?  His contract is very similar to Etan's.

Pretty sure
The Wolves have to pay all 17 of those contracts, but I'm pretty sure they can only keep 15 of those guys on the roster, which would allow other teams to sign the 2 who get released (who would still be paid by Minny). So it seems McHale has some decisions to make. Luckily for the Wolves, he's among the best at that.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! I crack myself up sometimes.

Dissapointing
...but not a big deal.  I thought he could be an eric snow esque guard at best.  I hope he does well in europe.
